The TSIA2 Assessment is a placement test that helps determine whether you are ready for college-level courses or if you need support courses in the areas of English and Math. The TSIA2 is not a pass-or-fail test.
Yes! There are a few TSIA2 Exemptions, but there are requirements that you must meet to receive these exemptions. You can view the full list of TSIA2 Exemptions HERE. If you believe that you meet one or more of these exemptions, you can contact the SPC Admissions & Records Office by phone at (806) 716-2500 or by email at [email protected] to find out about how your exemption(s) can be applied to your SPC file.
South Plains College administers the TSIA2 Assessment face-to-face at all SPC locations, which include the Levelland Campus, Lubbock Career and Technical Center, Lubbock Downtown Center, and Plainview Center. The TSIA2 Assessment is also being administered remotely, meaning you can take your test online from home.
Students have the option of taking the TSIA2 Assessment remotely with Examity for an additional $25.00 fee. You must have a working computer with a webcam, microphone, and a strong internet connection to test. Please click here for full remote testing instructions.
Your SPC Student ID number and SPC Student Email are required to be entered during test registration. This information is listed on your Acceptance Letter! If you need to request another copy of your Acceptance Letter to be sent to you, you can contact the SPC Admissions & Records Office by phone at (806) 716-2500 or by email at [email protected].
Yes! You can always retake your PAA again here. You will be required to create an account on this website to complete the PAA. There is no charge and it only takes about 15-30 minutes to complete. Please make sure to use a valid email address and always check your junk/spam folder, as well as your Inbox, for the PAA Completion Certificate email.
Your test scores will need to be submitted to the SPC Admissions & Records Office. You can email [email protected] to let us know you have finished your test and need your scores sent to the Admissions office. After Admissions verifies that all TSIA2 test scores (or equivalent) have been received, your TSIA2 hold will be removed.
The TSIA2 is not a pass-or-fail test. You will still be able to register for classes! You will be placed into support courses for each area in which you need support. Your advisor will discuss these support courses with you during your advising appointment.
The minimum TSIA2 scores required to demonstrate college readiness are:

There is not a limit to the amount of times you can take the TSI test. Please keep in mind that you will have to pay for each retest - $23 for one section, and $33 for both sections.
You can visit the ACCUPLACER Student Portal to access your TSIA2 Individual Score Report (ISR). If you have trouble with the portal, you may also contact the Testing Center in which you took the TSIA2 to request that your scores be sent to the SPC Admissions & Records Office.
